Sudeep Advanced Materials

Sudeep Advanced Materials (SAM), the wholly-owned battery materials arm of Vadodara-based Sudeep Pharma, is the only Indian company AJC has identified with a commercially validated, patented and genuinely differentiated route to battery-grade iron phosphate (FP): the precursor cathode active material (pCAM) that constitutes roughly 70% of an LFP cathode by raw material weight and 25–30% of its cost. While India’s LFP story is crowded with announcements, SAM is the one upstream player already shipping qualification volumes to the customers who matter: the Korean cathode and cell ecosystem anchored by SK, LG and Samsung, and India’s serious LFP entrants, GFL and Himadri.

KYCC: Pyridine & Jubilant Ingrevia

Picture a benzene ring: the six-carbon hexagon everyone remembers from school chemistry. Now knock out one carbon and put a nitrogen atom in its place. That is pyridine. One small swap, and the molecule behaves completely differently: it becomes mildly basic, it dissolves in water, and most usefully, it becomes a very convenient building block for hanging other things off.

BALAJI AMINES

Balaji Amines closed FY26 with a strong fourth quarter — EBITDA margins of 25%, a sequential ramp in specialty chemicals volumes, and management guidance of 10–15% volume growth for FY27 with margins of 22–23%. The stated growth agenda rests on the 100,000-TPA DME plant (reported as fully committed), electronic-grade DMC and DMF, an improved-process acetonitrile plant, NMM, and a ₹750 crore expansion at Balaji Speciality Chemicals centred on EDA derivatives, HCN and EDTA. The backdrop is supportive: global amine supply remains tight on West Asia disruption, and prices have firmed.

Aarti Industries: AJC Deep-dive

A  business dissection: the benzene–toluene chains, the aniline choke point, and a company caught in China’s shadow— read through AJC's own house thesis. This report is a chemicals intelligence dissection of Aarti's operating businesses — chemistry, value chains, feedstock and the policy mechanics around them; where the business meets an existing AJC thesis — the Wanhua aniline pull, China's VAT-rebate discipline, the Hormuz sulphur cascade —we say so plainly.

SRF Limited

The AC cooling your room. The chips packet in your hand. The tyres on your car. One Indian company quietly makes a piece of all three and most people have never heard its name. It's called SRF Limited. Started way back in 1970. And here's the trick — it does ONE thing really well: fluorine chemistry. Then it sells that same skill in four totally different ways.

Anupam Rasayan: The 360 degree Pivot

Anupam Rasayan is transitioning into a multi-dimensional, full-value-chain materials platform. The bet is not to make more chemicals. It is to wrap one chemistry engine around many end-markets so the same deep process expertise gets monetised again and again across agrochemicals, electronics, polymers, pharma and bio-materials.
